Are you looking for meaningful ways to deepen your connection to yourself, to Jewish community, and to the spirit of life? RUACH's upcoming special events offer unique opportunities to explore the intersection of Yoga + Jewish Wisdom, to engage in Shabbat traditions, and to experience peaceful Jewish Meditation practices in celebration of Chanukah. These events are designed to inspire, relax, and bring people together in a warm, welcoming environment. Whether you are new to these practices or have been swimming in the waters of mindfulness for years, these gatherings will enrich your spirit and spark meaningful connections.
Harmonize Ancient Traditions: Yoga + Jewish Wisdom
Come explore how RUACH is building a bridge between Jewish wisdom and traditional Yoga. You might be surprised how many ways there are to come back home.
This workshop is a dialogue between ancient traditions. Move with ruach (similar to "prana" in Sanskrit), the life-force inherent in the breath, in a holistic practice-and-study experience where breath, body, and story converge. In the ancient narrative of the exodus from Egypt, it's said that a “mighty hand and outstretched arm” brought a mixed multitude out of collective bondage, and a mighty wind parted the Red Sea, liberating a sense of expansive possibility. Where the mighty hand of the story belongs to the Divine, here we will embody the image ourselves, using our own mighty hands and outstretched arms to free constricted breath and awaken vitality. An all-levels Yoga practice will allow Jewish teachings to be directly embodied, through a blend of mindful movement, redemptive imagery, and guided reflection, with space for discussion and connection — expanding fully into your life force. This workshop is free. RUACH will be accepting donations (with no expectation!), 25% of which will go to one of 3 organizations focused on food insecurity, immigration & trans rights. Everyone who comes gets a vote where the funds go. 🗳💥
Experience the Serenity of Shabbat Together, In Partnership with Temple Israel of Boston
Leave the world behind and prepare yourself for Shabbat and the new week with a pre-Shabbat moment for yourself. This gentle, grounding session is geared toward a mindful reconnection through breath, spirit, meditation, and song. Rooted in the wisdom of the Jewish calendar, our pre-Shabbat meditation practice will invite us to truly be present with ourselves and each other as we move from autumn into winter.
No prior experience necessary.
Bring a friend, an open heart, and comfortable clothing. And stick around for Temple Israel's stirring Kabbalat Shabbat ("Receiving Shabbat") service at 6pm, followed by light refreshments.
In partnership with Temple Israel of Boston, offered onsite in the Temple Israel sanctuary.
A RUACH-Sponsored Half-Day Chanukah Retreat by Two Wings Mindfulness
Join us for a contemplative half-day Jewish meditation retreat in the Boston area, marking a potent moment in the cycle of the year: the final day of Chanukah, Rosh Chodesh Tevet, and the winter solstice. As we kindle the eighth light while marking the longest night of the year, we gather to reflect, center, and integrate all we have learned since the High Holy Days.
We will honor this sacred threshold through guided and silent meditation, gentle movement, reflective practice, and wisdom from our tradition: how does the interplay of light and darkness invite us to return to ourselves, to community, and the Mystery? During this era of uncertainty and disruption, embodied practice and Jewish teachings will support us in nourishing and resourcing the heart.
Join Us and Be Part of Something Special
Each of these events offers a chance to pause, reflect, and connect with others who share interests in spirituality, wellness, Jewish tradition, and cross-cultural connection. Whether you join for a peaceful Shabbat evening, an inspiring Yoga + Jewish Wisdom session, or the soulful Chanukah retreat (or hey, maybe all three!), RUACH is here to offer you a welcoming space to grow, tune in, and find greater belonging in the world.
