Yiddish Dance Pop-Up!

What better way to spend a spring Sunday afternoon than dancing with friends old and new! Join RUACH in Roxbury for a pop-up Yiddish dance experience featuring joyful, all-levels dancing, led by RUACH teacher Rachel Linsky (rachellinsky.com).

If you've ever danced the Horah and wondered "Are there other Jewish dances, too?" – the answer is YES, and this is your chance to learn them! The Jews of Eastern Europe brought a range of folk dances to this country, from freylakhs to bulgars, and whether you've danced them a thousand times or never heard of them before, RUACH is here to make sure you have a great time stepping into this fascinating, fun, and freeing part of our distinct cultural heritage. Together, we'll move in a spirit of connection, play, and joyful, embodied Jewish tradition.

No prior dance experience is needed. All types, all stripes: you're warmly welcome here.

This program takes place at the Jean Appolon Expressions Dance Center in Roxbury (2153 Washington St., 02119). We're grateful for their partnership in hosting this event. Given that the studio's main dance floor is a soft marley, we have been asked to abide by their "shoes-off preferred" policy (strictly indoor/dance shoes are OK!).
